Posted on: Sunday, June 26, 2005 Welcome to Hot Spots
Hot Spots reveals what we think are some of O'ahu's best-kept secrets. An East O'ahu hiking trail that places you on top of the world, yet unknown to many residents. An out-of-the-way North Shore beach where "Baywatch Hawaii" episodes were filmed, that is undocumented on many maps. And an extraordinary Monday night luau in Waikiki unfamiliar to most, since it's unadvertised. We'll pass along tips and suggestions when experiencing these unique O'ahu Hot Spots. There are some lists, but no rankings there are far too many excellent eateries and top-notch attractions to include in this issue. Our well-versed contributors have also included a potpourri of trivia and folklore including bloody stories behind Morgan's Corner, tips for finding that elusive Waikiki parking spot, local remedies that actually work and novel ideas for omiyage. If you're new to the islands, and even if you're a lifelong kama'aina, we think you'll enjoy browsing through this issue on your way to discovering a new Hot Spot maybe even uncovering a hidden treasure that's close to home. |
