And the guy on the right and his sidekick on the left still do their live broadcast every Saturday morning. But the local showroom scene has more to offer than just Jonathon Von Brana belting out Elvis tunes during "Blue Hawai'i: The Show," Don Ho's kitschy Hawaiian and Polynesian music and dance revue, and Michael Perry's and Larry Price's Saturday morning show at John Dominis.

Honolulu Academy of Arts' monthly ARTafterDark attracts a hip crowd of twenty- and thirty-something Honolulu up-and-comers, who mingle while inspecting art exhibits. This Academy-hosted Friday pau-hana mixer started in early 2004 and a steady and increasing attendance helps keep it on young urbanites' calanders. Upcoming themes include "Art Smart" this month, "Cool Nights, Hot Jazz & Blues" in July and "Havana Heat" in August.
